Our Forever First Lady is the executive producer of a new Netflix docuseries that features over 50 singles on their quest to find love. Imagine your homegirl introducing you to her new man, and you ask the couple how they met and their reply is, “Michelle Obama brought us together.”
This may be the story for some romantic hopefuls in Atlanta, home to the show The Later Daters. The show follows the six “silver singles” aged 56-71 as they navigate the dating world. The contestants—Nate, Lori, Anise Mastin, Pam, Greg, and Suzanne—are widowed or divorced; most have been single for at least a decade. Behavioral scientist and dating coach Logan Ury assists them as they dip their toes back into the dating pool.
According to Netflix-run website Tudum, “Dating coach Ury visits each of the singles’ homes to learn about their lives and to speak with their family members, which may include adult children and exes.”
The Netflix trailer for The Later Daters depicts a tribe of vibrant, fine-as-hell Aunties and Uncs who appear to be serious about finding a new boo. We do get a few glimpses of what seems to be problematic behavior, but what’s a reality show without some shenanigans?
AUNTIE is looking forward to watching these four women and two men as they brave being The Later Daters in the sometimes turbulent Atlanta dating pool. We wish them the best in their search for romance and companionship. For the love of God, please don’t let these Paw Paws play in our Auntie’s faces.
The first episode of The Later Daters drops on Netflix on Friday, Nov 29, so heat your holiday leftovers and prepare for what appears to be a wild ride. Y’all watching or nah?
