Tommy “Nephew Tommy Miles has been making our morning commutes more enjoyable for over a decade. As a cohost of the Steve Harvey Show, Miles is known for his quick wit and hilarious pranks that can make a church mother cuss. He entertains audiences around the world with often sold-out comedy shows. The actor, comedian, philanthropist and host sat down with AUNTIE to discuss his career, philanthropy, and the upcoming 11th season of the successful dating show Ready To Love, which he hosts and guides hopeful singles on their quest for romantic partnerships.

Warner Bros. Discovery
The show launched its first season in Atlanta and then traveled to several states across the South. For the first time in its history, Ready To Love is heading to Detroit. Nephew Tommy shares details about what to expect from the new season, which promises to take viewers on an adventure as they watch Black singles in the Motor City search for love.
The Steve Harvey Show co-host pointed out that one thing that’s different about this particular season of Ready To Love is the style—the Motor City, known for its superb fashion, and this is clear this season.
“Oh my god, let me tell you something. Detroit, let me know. I had to sharpen up my [fashion] game,” The host quipped.
Detroiters didn’t just bring their A game to fashion; the comedian told AUNTIE that it was clear many of the women cast members did not step in front of the cameras to let anyone play in their faces.
“..what I like about the ladies is they make these men put it on the table,” Miles emphasized.
He also noted that many season 11 cast members appear very intentional about finding love. Even if they aren’t successful in finding their forever love on the show, they often leave with a renewed sense of self.
“Well, I think a lot of them are very authentic,” Miles said. “A lot of people come on my journey and, you know, they can’t find who they’re looking for, but guess what? They found themselves. And a lot of times, you need to find yourself before you find somebody else.”

AUNTIE asked the Ready To Love host if there are any plans to reconnect with previous cast members. Miles welcomed the idea.
“I think if we did a special of “Where Are They Now,” it would be great. We can go back down memory lane and see what everybody’s doing.”
He says that although some contestants didn’t find a romantic partnership, their appearance on the show boosted their businesses.
Simone Redwine, who appeared in season 3 of the show, is a practicing lawyer and the host of Girl Is That Legal?, which a YouTube show where she not only helps women navigate dating, marriage, and divorce by providing legal advice but also discusses high-profile cases.
Tisa Johnson, known on social media as Tisa Xiare, is a dating coach and content creator who shares dating advice through witty videos with over 1 million followers across various social media platforms. The relationship expert appeared on season 5 of the hit show.

When he is not helping others find their forever boos, Miles is giving back in other ways. The stand-up comedian said he was inspired to support veterans after completing two USO tours in 2011 and 2013. The self-proclaimed “Black Bob Hope” recalls the experience in which he and his colleagues visited troops at a local hospital, where he met a soldier who left an imprint on his heart.
“Both of his legs had been blown off. He was just waking up out of surgery, and he says, he says, ‘hey, I would love to keep taking pictures with you guys, but I gotta get back to my men, ’” Miles recalled.
Miles said that he knew this soldier, who had not yet realized that he had lost his legs, would need long-term emotional and physical support. When he asked other soldiers about the procedures for caring for wounded soldiers, he learned that it is often a lengthy, complicated process. He understood that some soldiers and their families would require immediate care. Miles of Giving was created to help bridge that gap.
“I’ve always wanted a foundation, but I always wanted it to be something that I really felt dear to my heart and true about. But I created Miles of Giving, which lets I give back to these soldiers right now.”
When Miles faced his own battle with thyroid cancer in 2022, he was inspired to help others.
“The biggest thing is that they removed my thyroid, and while they were removing it, they looked down at my esophagus, and it was cancer all in my esophagus. They cleaned all that out, Miles recalled.” I had no chemotherapy, no radiation. It’s just gone.”
Now three years cancer-free, Miles says he owes his recovery to God and aims to pass on the blessings to others.
“While I was in the hospital, I created a slogan called, Don’t Cancer Me Out,” The radio host said.
He told Steve Harvey the slogan, who then advised Miles to turn it into a brand.
‘’You need to get that trademarked. That’s what your little ignorant behind needs to do,’’ Miles joked, executing a flawless impersonation of his real-life uncle Steve Harvey.
Don’t Cancer Me Out is a brand that sells t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and other merchandise. Miles says he wears the inspirational slogan to give people diagnosed with cancer some hope as they face their arduous medical journey.

The company also hosts a “ribbon of the month” program in which a ribbon symbolizes a person diagnosed with cancer and provides financial assistance to that person, which can often impose significant financial strain on the patient and their families.
