Tracee Ellis Ross took timeout from being one of Black American’s most beloved aunties to speak up for voting rights, Vice President Kamala Harris and childless aunties everywhere, during Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Unite For America’ event.

Ellis Ross weighed in on vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance’s assertion that the democratic party is full of  “childless cat ladies.”

Ellis Ross is often seen on social media living her best life. She states that as a “52-year-old childless woman” she admires both VP Harris and Winfrey. Both women, while not single, have foregone birthing children in favor of building lives that fullfil them in other ways. Both women have ascended to the pinnacle in their chosen fields.

Winfrey is so well-known as a billionaire, media mogul, the success of her talk show Oprah and acting and producer positions on two versions of Alice Walker’s, The Color Purple, is just one notable attribution to her resume. Harris is a trailblazer in public service. Her curriculum vitae boasts the positions of first Black women attorney general for the state of California and first Black Woman Vice President of the United States. Ross expressed her inspiration for these notable aunties, who are walking in their passion and purpose, setting a positive example of what women, specifically Black women, can achieve with dedication.

In Harris’ quest to secure the presidency, and reach marginalized communities, among them Black women and minorities, the presidential candidate sat down with Oprah Winfrey.

VP Harris and Oprah’s conversation extended beyond talk of reproductive choices. She also made waves speaking on her status as a gun owner and future plans to help small businesses.
