Sources revealed to The Jasmine Brand on Nov.26 that Ashanti and Nelly are reportedly expecting their second child together, just months after tying the knot in a private ceremony last December.

The exciting news comes on the heels of their first child’s arrival. The couple welcomed their son, Kareem Kenkaide Hayne, on July 18. In an emotional interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ashanti shared her joy at becoming a mother. “I cried—it was just so emotional and spiritual at the same time. Having a vision of this moment for so long … it was such an electrifying feeling,” she said. The “Happy” singer also took to Instagram, expressing her lifelong dream of motherhood.

A Love Story for the Ages

Nelly, 50, and Ashanti, 44, have a decades-long history. The pair first crossed paths at a Grammy Awards press conference in 2003 and have collaborated on hit tracks like their 2008 duet “Body on Me” and 2024’s “This Lil’ Game We Play.”

After dating for a decade and parting ways in 2013, the duo rekindled their romance in April 2023 during a high-profile Las Vegas boxing match. Their reunion took fans by surprise, as did Nelly’s candid comments about their time apart. “Sometimes being separate, you understand one another more,” the “Air Force Ones” rapper said on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.

A Secret Wedding and Growing Family

According to a marriage license obtained by Page Six, Nelly and Ashanti secretly wed on Dec. 27, 2023, in St. Louis, Missouri. Despite their discreet nuptials, their love story continues to capture fans’ hearts.

Now, with baby number two on the way, the couple is embracing the next chapter of their lives.
