It appears Drake has mastered bitter auntie energy. The almost 40-year-old artist seemingly threw shade at his alleged former lover, Rihanna, at a concert on Feb. 2. This isn’t the Champagne Papi first time playing in Black women’s faces.

While performing, dressed like he was fresh off the set of The Flintstones, Drake got testy as the Bajan mother of two’s hit single “Work” played during the Tampa leg of his tour with fellow emcee J. Cole.

“Yeah, I don’t sing this song anymore,” Drake began as “Work” played in the background. “You can sing it.”

While Drake’s comment garnered cheers from the audience during the Tampa tour, his hateful vitriol toward Black women in his industry is giving bitter auntie AF. The “Worst Behavior” singer featured on “Work,” the 2016 hit single that appeared on Rihanna’s album. If Champagne Papi was in his feelings perhaps he didn’t have to put the track on the playlist.

In October, Drake spilled his feelings prior to Rihanna celebrating her bae A$AP Rocky’s 35th birthday.  Drizzy seemingly engaged in pillow talk earlier in the month, implying that the singer’s sex game was mid at best in his song “Fear of Heights.”

“Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you? / That could never be / Gyal can’t ruin me / Better him than me / Better it’s not me.”

“I’m anti. I’m anti / Yeah, and the sex was average with you / Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you / Okay, I’m auntie like your daddy sister / Auntie like a family picture / And I had way badder bitches than you, TBH / Yeah, that man, he still with you, he can’t leave you / ‘Y’all go on vacation, I bet it’s Antilles.”

Auntie Drizzy didn’t just reserve his bitter banter for Rihanna. Our pincho-wearing papi also broke fly on Megan Thee Stallion.

I got to give a shoutout to somebody here who’s been with me since the beginning of my career,” Drake said during a performance in September. “Her name is Megan. Real H-town love. Shoutout to Meg one time for real—not that Meg, this Meg.”

Megan seemingly addressed Drake’s negative auntie energy in “Hiss.”

“These niggas hate on BBLs and be walkin’ around with the same scars/ Real curvy, no edging, niggas fight to get in my section/ Don’t speak on my body count if the dick ain’t worth coming back for seconds. Cosplay gangsters, fake-ass accents/ Posted in another nigga hood like a bad bitch.”

Around the same time, the Canadian entertainer also caught veteran actress Halle Berry’s ire when he reportedly ignored the star’s wish not to use an iconic 2012 photo of her being slimed at the Nickelodeon Awards.

Halle maintained that Drake’s audacity after she declined his request had her fucked up. The actress addressed the disrespect on Instagram.

“Didn’t get my permission. That’s not cool. I thought better of him! Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you, you have to be the bigger person and move on.

She continued, “He asked me, and I said ‘NO,’ that’s why. Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do? That was the f— you to me. Not cool. You get it?”

Comparatively, Drake’s unbad bitch behavior doesn’t swing toward his male peers. In 2014, Ye revealed that Diddy rocked Drizzy’s jaw at his first fashion show. The debacle allegedly stemmed from the Canadian artist dropping  “0 to 100” after the Bad Boy Records exec had the track first. Diddy denied the claim on The Breakfast Club the following year. He claimed that the two were friends, and he admired his work.

In Septemeber 2018, Auntie Drizzy also had smoke with Clipse’s Pusha T– who bested the emo artist after he revealed that Drake was trying to keep his love child with a porn star on the low. He also called him a “deadbeat.” Ye would ultimately end up apologizing to Drake over Pusha’s shots. The 37-year-old artist eventually came clean. Checkmate.

Their over-a-decade-long beef had the “Find Your Love” artist exhibiting pick-me behavior for his mentor and friend Lil Wayne.

Drake has been giving Sapphire energy for a few years now, and it’s time for him to let it go. He can take it up with a therapist or his mama, but he needs to leave Black women the hell alone.
