After spending 10 months laid up in Manhattan at a federal detention center and six weeks on trial for “racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution,” Sean “Puff P. Diddy Daddy Brother Love” Combs has received a not guilty verdict for the most serious federal charges that fell under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO); and on July 2, was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution. This victory has totally eclipsed the fact he is a domestic violence offender.
For many, this was just a case of sex, drugs, and hip-hop; an exposé of the Bad Boy mogul’s intimate lifestyle that was mired in freaky, kinky, homoerotica and sexual deviance. People who were quiet as church mice during Diddy’s demise, sounded off after his acquittal.
In an Instagram post, @Ebonielectra, the best friend of Kim Porter, deceased mother of three of Diddy’s children, sang praises around the trial’s outcome, stating:
“OPINIONS ….we are all entitled to them.
MISTAKES… we all make them
JUDGING… we all do it
A GOSSIP …. we are all guilty of it”
The post read: “GOD’S WILL… is higher than any opinion, mistake, judgement, or gossip. If this is God’s will for Puff / diddy, than that’s His will.”
Tiny Harris, from the 1990s girl group Xscape, chimed in saying, “Yeah!!!!! ppl wanna charge u so bad for being freaky is nasty work!!”

For others, Puff’s RICO trial was a clown show and an opportunity to show their collective asses at the courthouse, where people gathered daily to heckle Diddy’s children, and upon knowledge of his subsequent verdicts, people paraded outside the courthouse and shamelessly squirted bottles of baby oil on their bodies in celebration of Puff’s triumvirate of acquittals.

Diddy’s defense team also caroused the favorable outcome, during a post trial conference, regarding it an “enormous victory and win,” and boasting that the mogul “will sleep well at night knowing” he was acquitted on federal RICO charges and sex trafficking. To their point, the victor once again reigned supreme over victims as prosecutors failed to deliver a conviction, wasting time and resources to prove Diddy’s character flaws to the public.
How Diddy gets down sexually is beside the point.
It’s clear Diddy is a villainous voyeur, who used money, power and disrespect to orchestrate live, on-demand porn—infamously known as freak offs—and it’s equally clear that Diddy is exactly who the trial revealed him to be: a conniving, controlling, coercive, dominating egomaniac.
These characteristics are not mutually exclusive. He is the sum of all and then some.
And as Diddy’s supporting body celebrates his wins, they should be equally clear that they, too, are celebrating his ills.
They are paying homage to his raging fists and feet upside Cassie’s head and the blows about the body, as witnessed in that horrific video that was the catalyst for this shit show. They are toasting up to the worst of men and misogyny and violence against women. They are committing to a social perspective that sees their mothers, daughters, sisters and aunties, as bitches who ain’t shit but hoes and tricks.
Diddy is not a racketeer. Despite the indictment, despite the trial, despite the verdict, he is a domestic violence abuser. Money, mayhem, power and delusional people have allowed him to get away with that.
I hope victims find the safety and solace to sleep as well.
