Halle Berry is legit with the shits and we love that for her. The award-winning actress celebrated her birthday showing her bum and throwing the proper amount of shade at her very ex-husband David Justice, who expressed that he divorced Halle because he didn’t see her as the domestic type.
Halle responded with several pics, chillaxing somewhere with her longtime partner Van Hunt, enjoying her 59th revolution around the sun, looking hydrated, sunkissed, and unbothered. Ms. Berry captioned her post:
“Phew …! cooking, cleaning and mothering”

Halle’s carousel of photos showed the Marvel actress in full joy, with images ranging from a sizey smile to a miniature chocolate birthday cake with a single candle. However, the real clapback is how stunning she looks in a two-piece bathing suit—turning 59-years-old.
Justice—on the other hand—was giving very much messy, middle-aged man when he appeared as a guest on Matt Barnes’ podcast All The Smoke, and ran his mouth about his relationship with Berry. The couple married in 1993 and went their separate ways in 1997. The former major league baseball player intimated that he was just not that into the idea of marriage but that he didn’t have the balls to turn down Berry’s proposal, and seemed revel in the fact that he dumped her. Justice told Barnes, that at the time, Halle did not seem like an ideal wife:
“She don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem like motherly,” Justice said. See the 28:00 minute mark.
Justice’s chauvinist comment was not received well. The former Atlanta Braves player triggered a litany of criticism against his sexist comments and the fact his relationship to Halle has been a wrap for almost 30 years. People were flabbergasted by the idea that a young woman of Berry’s stature back in the 1990s would be cooking and cleaning at all.
No shade to raising children and handling domestic affairs in the household; it’s a respectable and loving role to play for the family but let’s not get it fucked up—equating a woman’s value on domestic labor is some Captain Caveman ideology.
The cult of true domesticity has been dead. Long gone are the days when heteronormativity pigeonholed women into servitude and birthing by way of marriage. As women bring far more to the table than bacon and eggs and housekeeping skills. At age 59, Halle brings life experience, a renowned career, motherhood, beauty, peace and softness to her five years strong relationship with Hunt, “The man [she] should’ve married,” Berry told Entertainment Tonight.
