Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia is under scrutiny after four female security officers allegedly smuggled contraband and coochie into the detention center. The women are accused of multiple acts including sending explicit pictures to current inmates, having sex with inmates, smuggling cellphones, chargers and food into the facility, according to WSBTV.
“These women unfortunately chose to be on the wrong side of the law by fraternizing with residents they were entrusted with watching over,” said Sheriff Pat Labat.
In an effort to assist prisoners gain access to luxury’s beyond the prison’s walls, Breasha Tate, Regina Harris, Laquna Ballard and Anizya Silas were placed under arrest after a lengthy investigation.
Sheriff Labat spoke on the requirements of the job and the repercussions for breaking them.
“They will now have to face the consequences for the crimes they are accused of committing. Our employees and contractors alike are held to a high standard of integrity,”she said.

While full blame cannot be placed solely on the head of Fulton county jail as the women were hired as contractors through Strategic Security company, Fulton county is not off the hook for having such lax security measures for entering its facility. The lack of checks and balances led to security officer Breasha Taylor, allegedly assaulting an inmate three times.
WSBTV reported that “Records reveal [Taylor] confessed to providing six cellphones and other contraband to an inmate and having sex with the inmate on three separate occasions.”
Since an inmate cannot legally consent to sexual acts with an officer Taylor will likely be charged with a sex crime.
Taylor is not the first or last officer to skirt the rules while working in a correctional facility and wield power in a way that is interpreted as abuse.
In Feb 2024, rookie correctional officer Akira Jones was arrested for having sex with inmates in Memphis, Tennessee. Jones, much like Taylor, was responsible for maintaining order, safety and the wellbeing of inmates. Instead Jones allegedly indulged in carnality. The indulgence led to Jones’s arrest and a felony charge of sexual contact with prisoners, according to the New York Post.
