Beyoncé Knowles-Carter can’t stop, won’t stop, building her empire, this time adding a new whiskey brand, SirDavis. News of the upcoming partnership with Moët Hennessy was announced via press release and social media. The self-proclaimed lover of Japanese whiskey notes that uncovering her family history led her seeking out Moet Hennessy to create a “first-of-it’s-kind” whiskey.

“SirDavis is named in honor of Davis Hogue, Knowles-Carter’s paternal great-grandfather, who was a farmer and a moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition,” the press statement read.

Beyoncé, a Texas native, detailed how the discovery impacted her and prompted the business move.

“When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy. In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis.”

Mrs. Cowboy Carter has been busy the past few years headlining the successful Renaissance Tour, releasing her 7th studio album and hair-care line Cécred. Beyoncé is a multi-hyphenate talent and accomplished business woman. She is currently flooding the consumer market with passion projects. With the gross sales of the Renaissance tour profiting the singer over $500 million she probably doesn’t need the money. Still, the award winning spirit will surely gain the singer a few more coins.
