Dates were front and center on Episode 6 of Ready To Love. The singles set up a series of creative meetups which mostly go surprisingly well. They receive instructions to discuss non-negotiables but some folks are unwilling to open up. This week, it’s the ladies’ turn to eliminate a male participant but Tommy throws a curveball to make things a little more interesting. Let’s get into it.

The Long-Waited Elimination

Picking up from episode 5’s cliffhanger, Meika and Koshiea are up for elimination. Much to Laron’s dismay, Koshiea is sent home. He said he was disappointed because he had the strongest connection with her but he also admitted that they were “going through troubles” anyway. With Koshiea gone, brotherman has decided that it was time for him to put his head in the game and see what’s popping with the other ladies.

The Dates

Justin and Rasheena meet for a salsa lesson. The lesson starts off a bit rocky as both struggle to learn the dance moves. Not only do they catch on quickly, they appear to be enjoying each other’s company. There is definitely some chemistry between these two, but is it a love connection? It looks promising.

Justin also goes on a date with Mya. The two Mississippi natives discover they have a lot in common, including wanting to have children. In episode 5, Mya said Justin was at the bottom of her prospect list, yet she is all smiles as they converse over cocktails. What a difference a week makes. Sparks are definitely flying between these two. When it comes to dating, Justin is winning in episode 6 and might be ready to love.

Alexis and Chaz meet. Instead of asking Chaz about his non-negotiables, she asks him what he thinks about Koshiea—a woman who is no longer on the show. Alexis tells him about the argument she had with Koshiea. Chaz responds by asking if she was okay and telling her that he would have protected her. It was chivalrous of him to be concerned about her safety, but discussing an argument with another woman doesn’t seem like an ideal first-date conversation. Chaz is attracted to Alexis and he’s not shy about letting her know it. The feeling is mutual—this may be why she anticipates a kiss at the end of their date. Chaz closes out the date with an embrace instead. He later says that he wanted to kiss Alexis but had connections with several women on the show.

“I ain’t going around kissing all the ladies” Chaz  said in his confessional.

It appears that he wants to stay on a level playing field with all of his prospects. Chaz is playing chess, not checkers on Ready To Love.

Patrice, Vanessa, Alonzo and William sit down for dinner. Vanessa feels like the 5th wheel as she watches Patrice sandwiched between the two men effortlessly carrying on a conversation with both of them.

William eventually turns his attention to Vanessa. He asks her why she had been ignoring his texts. Vanessa is confused. When William shows her his phone, Vanessa tells him that he had been texting the wrong number. William is relieved when he discovers that Vanessa wasn’t ghosting him and possibly ready to love.

Mieka and Domonique discuss their non-negotiables. Domonique reveals that he won’t deal with a non-cooking woman. Mieka is cool with that. They revisit their conversation about having children. Although Mieka previously said that she did not want to have more children, she told Domonique that she would be open if she met the right man. Domonique claims “he knew” she would be open to having more kids. Later in her confessional, Mieka admitted that as of now, Domonique doesn’t inspire her to want to house another human being in her body. Having children appears to be a non-negotiable for both of them. They should both admit that to themselves and stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

RaSheena invites Will and Jonathan to a body butter making class. Both men seem to be into the process, but they both clam up when it comes to discussing their non-negotiables. Jonathan attempts to dodge the question with humor. RaSheena isn’t amused. Justin claims to be a “private-guy” who doesn’t feel comfortable with answering questions. Self-proclaimed “private guys” are usually blaring red flags.

Mean Girls or Mean Girl?

While in the ladie’s lounge, the women confront Alexis about sharing the details of their girl talk with Will.

“What happens in the ladies’ lounge stays in the ladies’ lounge.” Patrice said.

Alexis defends herself saying she told Will that one of the ladies said he slept on the floor, but she didn’t “call any names.” Although Will did his own investigation to find out who said it, Alexis still gave him the reason to sleuth. Instead of taking accountibility for violating the ladies’ privacy, she accused the other women of being mad because Will took an interest in her but “didn’t like them.” She also accused the women of being “mean girls.”
Hello pot, meet kettle.

Bye Guys

Tommy tells the women they will be sending two men home this week instead of one. Therefore three men will be up for elimination. Will, William and Jonathan are all on the chopping block. Both Will and Jonathan received their walking papers. Willam is spared again this week but reveals that he needs to step his game up. We are rooting for the brother.
